ART’s technology platform is protected by an extensive patent portfolio and technological trade secrets at the leading edge of optical imaging.
ART’s intellectual property includes the worldwide exclusive licensing rights to all patents granted to Dr. Britton Chance (Professor Emeritus, University of Pennsylvania) relating to time domain technology in the medical and bio-optical sectors. Dr. Chance is the acknowledged pioneer and pre-eminent authority on time domain optical imaging. He serves on ART’s Scientific Advisory Board.
In December 2003, ART strengthened its intellectual property portfolio by acquiring exclusive worldwide licensing rights to Dr. Joseph R. Lakowicz’s extensive optical molecular imaging patent portfolio. Dr. Lakowicz, a world renowned biochemist and molecular biologist, and a pioneer in the field of fluorescence spectroscopy, is the Director of the Center for Fluorescence Spectroscopy at the University of Maryland and a member of ART’s Scientific Advisory Board.
