Acquisition System

Offering a flexible solution for almost any optical or multi-modality imaging application, the Optix MX3 acquisition system combines a light-tight enclosure, multiple illumination sources, and versatile imaging modes with powerful image capture software to manage quantitation quickly and accurately.

The MX3 system can image albino, hairless, hairy (black, white, brown), and pigmented mice and supports up to four integrated pulsed lasers and additional external illumination sources, as well as multiple optical filters on the collection channel. Ex vivo and in vitro scanning, as well as bioluminescence and chemoluminescence measurements, are also possible with the system.

“We selected an optical imaging system that acquired data in the time domain. This mode of acquisition offers the ability to decouple the tissue attenuation measured by simpler continuous wave mode into the underlying tissue absorption and scattering. The consequence is a more detailed description of photon propagation, which leads to a more accurate recovery of probe concentration.”
