Single-Mouse Scanning Bed
The single-mouse scanning bed, shown below, is the standard scanning plate included with the system. It is fitted with a nose cone and gas anesthesia connections.

Five-Mouse Scanning Bed
You can use the five-mouse scanning bed, shown below, instead of the standard single-mouse scanning bed to scan up to five mice simultaneously. An embedded nose cone at each mouse position provides inhalation anesthetics, while each concave mouse holder allows for quick animal positioning without tape or any restraining device.

Anesthesia System
The anesthesia system selected by ART for use with the Optix system is user-friendly, economical to operate, and provides for maximum operator safety. All components of the system fit with the H-shaped base, which allows the device to be stored flat against a wall, while a mechanical stop oxygen flow control prevents over-tightening and damage to the valve.

Optical/CT Carriers with Interchangeable Scanning Bed
The optical/CT carriers with an interchangeable scanning bed, illustrated below, allow you to image a specimen in both the Optix system and microCT scanners. The interchangeable scanning bed allows you to transfer an animal from one system to the other without changing its position. The bed includes a series of steel ball bearings — each with a diameter of 0.0028 mm — that are affixed at specific locations on each side. These steel inclusions provide the X-ray fiducial markers needed for co-registration with optical image datasets.
You should note that you will also need the OptiView CT Fusion software module in order to prepare your optical images for co-registration with CT datasets.

Other Multi-Modality Accessories
Contact your Regional Sales Manager or Product Distributor for information about using optical imaging in combination with other imaging modalities such as MRI and PET.
Well Plates Worktable
The well plates worktable accommodates standard microplates with 96 wells or less. Well plates can be installed and uninstalled on the worktable without supplementary tools. Positioning of the well plate within the imaging area is within an accuracy of ±0.25mm.
